Hi,
I am an owner of a Ford F100 1953 (jip no thunderbird, BUT!!) with an 4,6 v8 modular engine and 4r70w tranny. Engine runs kinda good, but in the top RPM range it's hikking and sputtering (don't know the good English words for it). And the tranny doesn't shift up in gears, I can select all gears (P-R-N-D-1-2) but in Drive mode it doesn't shift up as it should. After some research I saw that it was missing the range sensor, so I bought that one and put it in. Still doesn't shift. (the owner that has build this drive line into it hasn't made it working so it does mis some things and stuff. I am still knew in the American car world and don't know much about the gearbox and how it exactly works. Below I have some pictures so you guys can see some problems.
The range sensor is installed correctly (car in neutral, marks on the sensor aligned) and the wires that come straight out of the connector go backwards on the tranny. About 20cm wire a cable harness from the right side of the tranny joins and together they go into a square connector about 4cm*4cm. And that one doesn't go into anything (I think that the problem is over there).
Also yesterday I found something about a megasquirt gearbox control, I don't know anything about that but I have a box in the car that kinda looks like it.
If anything isn't clear just ask, my English is not that good.

What I thought was the megasquirt??

Cable for the range sensor:

The white sensor cable joins the range sensor cable:

Right low side, that's the connector that I think should go on something. But I don't know onto were?

Square connector:

Would be great if somebody here could help me with this, I just bought the truck like this. Restoring it now.

Voor het stotteren in hoge toeren wil ik de brandstof toevoer eens gaan inspecteren, ga een opvoerpompje er tussen zetten en dan nog eens proberen.
